Today's missions are (1) to make the house cleaner and nicer to live in in time for movie night tonight and (2) to not overdo it with my still-healing body. I have a bad habit of giving 110% on the days when I have the energy to do anything at all, then spending the next couple of days exhausted and recovering. Today I want to give 75%, then rest and reward myself. This is an accountability post to track what I do today. If I have energy tomorrow, I'll know I was successful.

Breakfast. (Pop-tarts and a caffeinated smoothie. I remembered the Elon Musk Pop-tart story with delight.) Fed the cat.

Unloaded the dishwasher and the dryer. Started new dish and laundry loads. Cleaned the kitchen sink, stovetop and counters. Light dusting. Folded and put away the towels that have been on top of the dryer for weeks.Taking a break here because I'm lightly out of breath. My brain tells me I "shouldn't" be tired from "so little," but I am so I'm taking a break.

Now I need to figure out what kind of rewards to give myself on breaks today. Playtime with the cat is a good one, as are sections of my book. I've been saving a bag of jelly beans for a while, so I might break that out. Tumblr, sparingly. It's shaping up to be beautiful outside, so I'd like to take a walk after lunch.

Put on music. Moved the laundry to the dryer and started a new load. Scooped the cat boxes. Made the beds. Lit a candle. Light vacuuming of cat-frequented areas. Remembered I could update my position on our ranked competitive chore chart (collective household ADHD accommodation) and did so.

All the Yuletide-posting on my Reading page is tempting me. I'll have to think about that AFTER the house is clean.

Unloaded the dishwasher, then started new dish and laundry loads. (Final load of laundry!) Folded and put away the three clean loads of laundry, minus the towels. Made myself a glass of blueberry lemonade.

Folded and put away the remainder of the laundry. Decluttered the living room and bedroom. Experimentally stuck the pillows we just replaced into the cubbies of the cat tree he doesn't use, since the one he likes is padded. I suspect he doesn't use them because they're designed more as hiding places than vantage points and he isn't a hider, but we shall see.

Put away the last of the dishes and the backup fitted sheet. Dusted and organized the bedroom with a vengeance. Unpacked and put away the various going-out bags that had been languishing on furniture around the house. Refilled my pill organizer and put away the six or so varieties of painkiller I don't need to take anymore (!!). Made a snack (cheese, pickles, and carrots) and heroically defended my salad dressing from the cat, who doesn't care that he's an obligate carnivore.

Cleaned the bathroom, dusted the living room, and took out the trash. I think I'm done for the day. Time for a shower!

As a reward, I opened the packs of cards I won at a local Two-Headed Giant tournament a couple weeks ago. About six of them are going straight into my decks. I hope I get to play THG again sometime. My friend and I realized we both have pirate decks and played them together. It was a great time AND an excuse to bust out my pirate shirt.
