gremdarkOpening Dreamwidth today brought up my last draft from August, which reads:
"I’ve been very offline for the last month because I was writing for Battleship, which, as planned, was a great anxiety sap for my pre-surgery jitters. It’s a SUPER routine procedure, but they’re still yanking out some of my internal organs, and that’s stressful as fuck. I’ve given my partner some of my passwords just in case, but I’m going to be fine."
They DID yank out some of my internal organs. And I came a hair away from dying of internal bleeding. I'd never had a zero-wait ER trip before, and with any luck I never will again.
Two months later, I'm in essentially zero daily pain for the first time since I was a child. I'm still having to take things slow, but I can DO things again! It's so much easier to focus, I almost never have a headache, and I don't get dizzy unless I've skipped a meal. Even with the near-death experience, I feel so lucky.
How's everyone doing? Now that I don't have to sleep 16 hours a day to let my internal organs heal, I'm excited to socialize properly.
